It’s for the ease of reference that international students at Shijiazhuang University understand the credentials policies of entering and exiting China, in accordance with Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China and relevant regulations of Shijiazhuang public security departments, hereby formulate following instructions:
Ⅰ. Passport
1. Passport is the legal identity document for international students to stay in China. International students at Shijiazhuang University need to hold ordinary passports to study in China.
2. Passport should be in safe hands. If the passport is lost, international students should do as following procedures:
1) Report to the International Student Office of Nule International College on the day of loss, and report the case to Zhufeng Police Station;
2) Take the police report and the copy of the original passport, go to the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau to apply for the passport loss certificate;
3) Take the passport loss certificate issued by Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau, go to your country’s embassy or consulate in China to apply for a new passport;
4) With the new passport, go to the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau to reapply for a visa and residence permit, ask for a change about the new information.
3. International students must carry the passports when going out. In case of foreign affairs police inspection, you are obliged to provide legal passports. If it cannot be provided, you will be punished by the public security organ according to the regulations.
4. International students should regularly check the validity date of your passports. If the passport expire within the study years, you should go to your embassy in China at least 6 months in advance to go through the extension procedures.
5. Passports shall not be altered, defiled or stamped without permission.
6. It is a serious illegal act to lend or sell your passport to others for use.
Ⅱ. Visa
1. All foreigners coming to China for the purpose of study must enter China with a study visa.
2. According to the length of stay in China, study visas are two types of X1 and X2 visas. The X1 visa is issued to international students who apply for a long-term study in China for more than 180 days; the X2 visa is issued to those who apply for a short-term study in China for no more than 180 days (inclusive).
3. With passport, offer letter, Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201 or JW202) and other required materials, go to your local embassy or consulate of the People's Republic of China to apply for the entry visa.
4. After applying for an entry visa in your country, international students must get back the offer letter, JW201 or 202 form and other documents so that you can apply for residence certificate after entering China.
5. X1 visa generally only allows holders to enter China once and must apply for a residence permit within 30 days after entry, otherwise it constitutes illegal residence. After entering China, international students must firstly come to the university, at the assistance of International Student Office to apply a residence permit at Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau.
6. The number of entries for the X2 visa and the number of days allowed to stay after entry China are indicated on the visa. International students holding an X2 visa must remember the duration of their stay and leave before the end of their stay.
Ⅲ. Accommodation registration
1. International students who will live in the dormitory on campus, must register for accommodation in the international student's apartment within 24 hours arriving in China.International students who live outside the campus need to register for accommodation in the local police station or public security branch within 24 hours arriving in China.
2. International students should timely re-register accommodation if the following happened: changes of accommodation address; renew the passport, visa, or residence permit;and re-entry China. International students who fail to register or re-register in time are deemed to illegal residence.
Ⅳ. Residence permit
1. International students holding X1 visas are required to apply for a study residence permit within 30 days after entering the country. Failure to do so within the time limit constitutes illegal residence. Students holding X2 visas do not need to apply for a residence permit.
2. The materials required for applying for a study type residence permit are as follows:
1) The original passport, as well as copies of the personal information page and visa page of the passport;
2) Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201/202);
3) The original Admission Notice;
4) Physical Examination Certificate;
5) Registration Form of Residence for visitors from Overseas;
6) 1 2-inch white background photo;
7) Fees: 800 RMB/year.
3. To apply for the extension of residence permit, the above materials must be submitted to the International Student Office 40 days before the expiration date.
4. The validity of the residence permit for international students in China shall not exceed their study period.
5. International students who have an attendance rate of less than 80% and fail to pass the exam will not be eligible to apply for an extension of their residence permit.
6. After completing the studies, international students should leave China before the expiration of their residence permit, otherwise it will constitute illegal residence.
Ⅴ. Physical examination
1. International students who will study in China for one year or more must go to the International Travel Health Care Center (hereinafter referred to as the Health Care Center) under the Chinese inspection and quarantine organ for physical examination and obtain a health certificate. Only then can you apply for residence permit.
2. International students applying for residence permit must go through physical examination at the designated physical examination center.

3. International students must carry the original passport and 3 2-inch white background photos to do health examination on an empty stomach.
4. Physical examination items include routine and infectious diseases examination.
5. Physical examination fee: 427 RMB.
Ⅵ. Insurance
1. International students must purchase insurance during the study period at the university. According to the insurance regulations, enjoy medical insurance..

Ⅶ. Others
1. International students who change their passports, extend or change their residence permits shall pay fees in accordance with the regulations of the public security organs, and all fees shall be borne by the international students themselves.
International students should earnestly study relevant laws and regulations. Timely do accommodation registration and change procedures, residence permit and change procedures as required. If failed to do within a required time, you shall bear the corresponding legal liabilities.
